How to stop paint peeling off your teak windows and restore the original color?
Many people from windows and doors have been varnished teak but peeling and faded and look horrible, what can you do? All is not lost, but a little elbow grease is required to return to look good again. First you must strip all the rest of varnish off and you can make relatively simple use of paint stripper as Nitromors. Follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully.
When all the old varnish is removed, wash all traces of the stripper in depth, a power washer at medium pressure, it would be ideal if you have one, or maybe you could rent one on the way a few pounds.
When all traces of old varnish and stripper have been removed, you can restore the original color of the wood with Net-Trol. Wet timber first then apply the Net-Trol with a brush. Shake the surface lightly with a stiff brush just after application. Leave it for about twenty to thirty minutes then rinse. A power washer would do the best job. You will be amazed at how the new wood look that did this.
Now able to return to the hand-painted to preserve that look. To preserve the natural look I would recommend two layers of Textrol applied wet on wet. This matter penetrates deeply and gives a good mate, anti-UV finish. Allow at least four days in good drying before applying Textrol. (Tintable and is available in two ready to use dyes Golden Oak and Rustic Oak)
Alternatively, if you want something really luxury is DEKS olje (O-lea) D1, normally used in wooden boats, yachts, so this is another penetrating oil that leaves a matte finish, or if you prefer a high gloss finish enchanting, you can apply multiple layers of D2 DEKS Olja, preferably on top of a D1 layer.
