Yacht Rigging
Laser full rig and radial have different weight sailors. Why can’t they race together /w/ weight limits?
For smaller races and yacht clubs would it not make sense to have the two race together? Full rig could be 180 and up and radial could be below. With such a small boat affected by crew weight the typical handicapping seems useless.
I know this was the original plan. What happened? The notion that the radials cannot compete is silly if you watch sailor weight.
All with the weight, there’s major disadvantages based on how much you weigh. Boats in a race also need to be rigged the same way, just make sense. If it gets to diverse there’s no point in classifying races.
